After 25 years of accessories, customization and re-imagination in countless movies, TV shows and video games, the Magnum Research Desert Eagle .50 AE 6″ Black NIB DE50Gun has emerged as a pop-culture symbol. You can customize your Desert Eagle Pistol with a range of stunning finishes to add your own distinctive twist to this timeless weapon. All versions feature a full Picatinny rail on the barrel from the end of the chamber right behind the front view and standard ambidextrous safety features.
The concept for the Desert Eagle was initiated by Bernard C. White of Magnum Research and Arnolds Streinbergs of the Riga Weapons Institute, who filed a US patent application for a gas-actuated pistol system in January 1983.This laid down the basic structure of the Magnum Research Desert Eagle .50 AE 6″ Black NIB DE50 A second patent application was filed in December 1985, following the refinement of the basic design by IMI Systems (Israel Military Industries) for production, and this is the type that went into production.
The gun is shot by a single act hammer and has a manual safety switch on the slide. The ambidextrous safety switch rotates the drum mechanism that sits over the fire pin, allowing the fire pin to lock in, preventing it from moving forward and minimizing the risk of the gun being accidentally discharged. With safety in place, pulling the trigger releases the hammer to fall back, hits the fire pin, and causes the chambered round to discharge.
